Private tutor in Madison, WI

Harvey Mudd College: Bachelor's degree (2005) in mathematics. University of Wisconsin-Madison: Master's degree (2009) and Ph.D. (2014) in mathematics.

I have 10 years of experience in education working with a diverse group of both high school and college students. This includes 2 years of full-time math tutoring experience supported by training in tutoring best practices. I'm a firm believer in meeting each student where they're at, learning their strengths and building upon them. I also strive to make a personal connection with students--I know that many people find math to be a somewhat daunting subject, and so creating a friendly and welcoming space is important.

I love reading (currently the science fiction novel "Midnight Robber" by Nalo Hopkinson), and pretty much never leave home without a magazine or book. Camping is another activity I enjoy, and I've made a few such excursions out west (Utah, Nebraska, Colorado, California) in addition to trips closer to home. I also like cooking and movies.
