Experience

With over 25 years of tutoring and teaching experience in math, I have a wealth of knowledge to share. I believe in the Socratic Method of teaching. This means that the learning environment is set up in a discussion and knowledge is gained through discussion and inquiry. I think this helps to develop critical thinking and illuminates new ideas. I have found that chess is a great way to improve critical analysis and logical reasoning skills. World of Warcraft is helpful in increasing detail oriented attention and organization skills. Simply reading a novel in a favorite genre helps to improve reading comprehension. There are many ways to increase knowledge and further education. I earned my PhD. in Mathematics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and I attended Oregon State University. I am interested in tutoring a variety of subjects related to math. During my free time, I enjoy my online chess league.
