Hobbies
I'm interested in music. We go out to hear music in Madison all the time. I play the flute, and a bit of guitar and piano. I love hiking, bicycling and cross country skiing. I play women's ice hockey. We go to the national over-50 championships every year. In college and for a few years afterward I was a member of the women's rowing team. I love to garden, both flowers and vegetables. I worked as a cell an molecular biologist in the horticulture department and the botany department, and really enjoy working with plants every day. I love images- I'm a very visual person. I use the microscope all the time in my research and take many photographs in my spare time. I'm interested in sustainability and green living, alternative energy, and conservation. I grew up with solar panels on my house in the 1970s, so I've been thinking about this for a long time.
