Experience
I earned my BA in English Education from Purdue University. I went on to be an English teacher, which was a great fit for me because of my love for reading and discussing literature. I have experience teaching English to middle school and high school students. Through my years teaching, I developed teaching skills that allow me to successfully teach students in reading, vocabulary, writing, and grammar. I've worked with students of varying abilities, and in my opinion, searching for knowledge is better than any other adventure we pursue in our lives. I believe in working study skills and basic organization skills into tutoring sessions, as these will benefit my students far beyond our time together. As for me, I continue to learn every day, and feel it has improved my life enormously. I get great satisfaction when my students reach their light bulb moment, grasping something they had thought was beyond them. I share in the pride and excitement they feel, and appreciate this as the time they start to really become engaged in their learning efforts. I take the time to get to know my students and their interests and abilities, so I can provide personalized lessons that work best for them.
