EducationAfter two years at Madison College, I transferred to the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where I graduated with honors with a BA in Classical Languages (my emphasis was in Ancient Greek, though I took as much Latin as I did Greek). My overall GPA in college was a 3.9 and in my last year I wrote a Senior's Thesis which allowed me to graduate with honors. After Madison, I attended New York University as a graduate student.
ExperienceI was first hired as a tutor by the Center for Educational Opportunity, a federally funded program which assists first-generation college students. During my time at the CEO, I was given the opportunity to tutor first and second year Latin, Italian, and German. This job allowed me to develop critical tutoring skills, such as crafting exercises and practice exams/quizzes, as well as identifying a student's learning style(s) so that I may better assist a student's particular needs.
HobbiesMy main interest, besides languages, is guitar. Music has been my passion since beginning to play and has afforded me additional opportunities to help students by giving guitar lessons.

When I first moved to Madison I wanted to branch out and learn to become fluent in a language I loved, Italian. I did a lot of research and interviewing of tutors to find one that would best fit what I needed, but who was reasonably priced. As I past teacher myself I needed someone that had the ability to explain things in more than just one way. I also needed someone that was flexible with my crazy work schedule. I came across Noah on this website and just his knowledge of languages was enough to impress me, but then I met him in person. He is professional, prompt and most importantly a great teacher. He has a way of breaking a language down so you can understand it. He is also thorough in showing you just how every part of the language is important and connected. He has such patience that is needed when teaching any subject. If you are not understanding something he will work with you to explain it a bunch of different ways until you get it. If you have questions he will always do his best to answer them. What I admire, aside from his work ethic, is his passion for learning and for sharing what he has learned. To find someone that is truly passionate about what they do is rare enough, but to find someone who is passionate about what they do and who is willing to teach it is even more rare. I am very grateful that I was able to find such a tutor as great as Noah. Anyone looking for a tutor would be nuts to not look to Noah to hire.
