Experience

Tutoring has been my passion for the last 10+ years. For me, it's all about helping students achieve their full potential. I like to get to know my students' individual learning styles and tailor lessons to their unique needs, which works wonders--my students insisted I tutor them via videochat from across the country even after I moved away :) I tutor all subject areas, focusing mainly on math, science, and standardized testing. I teach all levels from basic math to multivariable calculus, all types of science (physics, biology, chemistry), and all types of standardized testing--from private school entry to college entry exams. I scored the equivalent of a 1510 on the SAT (scoring system changed--it was 2200 on the 2400 scale), and a 34 on the ACT, which got me into Rice University, otherwise known as the Ivy League of the South :)

Hobbies

The first thing you'll notice about me is that I'm bubbly and outgoing :) During a lesson, I am extremely supportive. I will cheer on your student when they are on the right track or gently nudge them in the right direction when they're a bit off base. A little bit about my life: I've worked in tech since 2018 and I use my remote job to travel around the US and Latin America! Some of my favorite spots are Mexico City, Cozumel, Medellín, New York City, and San Diego. When I'm home, I foster dogs and volunteer with a local mutual aid group.
