PhD in microbiology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. B.S. in biology (minor in chemistry) from the University of Evansville. I performed five years post-doctoral research in the Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I currently work as a scientist in the Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
I have tutored since I was an undergraduate at the University of Evansville. Throughout my scientific career I have helped people formally and informally to understand various biological concepts, from molecular biology to genetics to evolution to bioinformatics to computational biology. I have always enjoyed helping people understand concepts in biology including evolution, microbiology, and molecular biology. I have over 13 years of experience working directly as a scientist and would love to help anyone understand the amazing concepts of biology and science.

I am a father to my son, who keeps me busy. I work as a computational and bioinformatics scientist at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where I had performed experimental bench work for over a decade. I love baseball, specifically the Chicago Cubs (although the Brewers are my second team). I enjoy playing trivia and taking photos in my spare time.
