University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee - Bachelor of Science, Cell and Molecular Biology
I graduated magna cum laude from Loyola University in Chicago, where I received a Bachelor of Arts in English. I will soon be graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. I am actively involved as the Vice President of UWM's student government, and also serve as a lab research assistant. I hope to apply for medical school in the near future.I would describe myself as someone who is "whole-brained," and is able to tutor students in both the humanities and subjects like math and science. My philosophy as a teacher is to focus on each student's needs. I tailor my style of teaching to the way that each student learns best, which I believe allows them to understand the topics better. I also try to show examples of how a topic is used in our everyday lives to make the subjects more relevant to the student, and I enjoy using visual tools to help the learning process.I have a great grasp on how to study for standardized tests, having scored in the 95th percentile on both the MCAT and GRE, and am able to tutor others to do the same. I also have the ability to tutor students at any grade level in English, science, math, and social studies.Outside of school, I enjoy hiking, fitness, and music.
