ExperienceMy name is Yanli Zhu. I was born in China and speak both Mandarin and Cantonese fluently. I have a Chinese Standard Mandarin Certificate. I obtained my bachelor degree in Chinese Language and Literature in Southern Chinese Normal University and associate degree in Primary Education (Chinese) in Foshan University. I was certified as a teacher and school psychological counselor in China. I taught Chinese and English at public elementary school and middle school (same school district) for 8 years in Guangdong, China. I developed my teaching and interpersonal communication skills during my years of teaching there. I was a director in Taishan Shuibu school district in charge of teaching Chinese, English and student counseling programs. In 2008, I won the title of Outstanding Teacher in Guangdong province. My research papers on Chinese, English and teaching and psychology received many prizes in China. I immigrated to the U.S in 2011 and taught in a U.S public school as a Chinese teacher. After that, I decided to go back to school to get a master degree in education in the U.S. Currently I am a Ph.D. student in Curriculum and Instruction in UW-Madison. I am also a Chinese tutor now, and my students’ range from 1 to 5 years old, I also provide any level of Chinese study.
Currently we established a Chinese tutoring group as an after school program. No more than 5 students are in a group will be taught by one professional Chinese teacher.
