Experience

I have tutored students in general math, chemistry, biology, writing/speaking skills, ESL, and languages. I also help students through their college courses to learn how to study and become high achievers. In addition, I coach students during their applications process for college or graduate school admissions. I have participated in mentoring programs for minority students. I work well with high achievers and with those that have fallen behind but are motivated to improve. I want to be a tutor to facilitate other peoples learning experiences. I am a life learner and I know that once we learn to enjoy learning, we are set up for the best. I am bilingual Spanish/English. Classes: My preferred subjects are science, writing and languages. Lately, I have been working as a science writer, as well as a self-publisher and illustrator. I have experience teaching advanced courses biology (general and specialized courses, zoology, botany, ecology, environmental studies, conservation, ecological economics and Agroecology (field studies abroad). If you have been experiencing problems with your CV, paper reviews/discussions, research papers or other forms of academic written analysis, I can teach you how to become a better reader and writer. This skills is paramount to your academic success. I can read with you, review your papers, offer suggestions and kind critics and really teach you how to improve your skills. I can also help students working on their applications to college and graduate school. It all start with an interview that will allow you to know your strength and weaknesses and use both of them for your success. I participated in interdisciplinary work that allowed me to learn about communication across disciplines as well as communication with the public, and leadership. I have published peer review papers as well as articles for the public. I had been awarded a Fulbright, Chancellor's Awards, and other grants . As a mentor and teacher I seek to help you jump barriers, learn faster, and become independent. You won't need me for the whole year and that is because my idea of mentoring is not to make you dependent but to help you overcome your fears, manage your weaknesses and acquire confidence and overall become a better stronger student and person. I do not take many students, but those I take, I promise to forward, and they wont even notice. Until they are ready to tell me that they no longer need a tutor or mentor.
